INTERVENTION FIREFIGHTING TROUSERS S-GARD SWISSHUNTER
The SWISSHUNTER trousers are designed with comfort and safety in mind, providing access to everything that may be needed during an intervention.
TROUSER SUSPENDERS
The suspenders are made of durable material and, because they are non-elastic, they will not stretch over time. A special elastic-rubber section in the lumbar part of the trousers ensures greater flexibility, allowing normal movement when bending. Tightening the suspenders is done similarly to adjusting a breathing apparatus, simply by pulling a strap.
LUMBAR PROTECTION PRX9000
The PRX9000 is the result of years of development by S-GARD experts and is one of the key patents of the S-GARD company.
The PRX9000 is made of a special polymer that is foam-like, permanently elastic, and fire-resistant.
Its purpose is to impact the microclimate inside the trousers, as it allows for easier and faster air circulation around the firefighter, thus preventing heat stroke, a dangerous occurrence in firefighting when combined with sweating, poor air circulation, and extreme conditions.
The PRX9000 also helps in alleviating pressure on the heavily belted lumbar area, thus not only regulating the microclimate inside the suit but also enabling comfortable wearing of a breathing apparatus.
MOVE+ SYSTEM
S-Gard Hero Attack intervention trousers are made of 3 layers – an outer layer, inner lining, and a membrane sandwiched between the two. To ensure maximum comfort in a firefighter's movement, S-Gard has quilted all three layers in the crotch area, allowing for exceptional movement even in extreme conditions. This quilting system of all three layers in the crotch area is called the MOVE+ system. In practice, this means that when a firefighter raises a leg during work, the trousers follow the movement, providing the greatest freedom of movement.
PRACTICAL POCKETS
The trousers have a pocket on each side, with a dual opening, one being a real pocket for storage, and the other opening actually not being a pocket but allowing access to the inner part of the trousers.
There are bellows or real pockets on both sides of the trousers. An important feature of these pockets is that their lower edges are not directly sewn onto the outer layer of the trousers but have a gap. This is important because if the pocket is full, the contents do not press against the inner part of the trousers, i.e. the leg, which is particularly important when carrying heavier items in the pockets and trying to run.
The pocket flaps are additionally reinforced with material DuPont™ Nomex/Kevlar® with an impregnation of silicone and carbon fibres and PRX9000.
TROUSER FASTENING
The trousers are fastened on the front with a Velcro closure, as a zipper could cause issues. A press stud is also attached next to the Velcro for additional securing of the trousers.
REFLECTIVE STRIPS
Similarly to the jacket, the trousers also have double-quilted reflective strips. The reflective strips are segmented, meaning they are cut, allowing for a softer feel when wearing the suit.
INSPECTION OPENINGS
The trousers also include 2 inspection openings through which the condition of the membrane can be checked from both sides. It is recommended that after each internal attack, the firefighter checks the condition of the membrane to ensure there are no damages. If the membrane is damaged, it needs to be repaired or replaced for personal safety.
ADDITIONAL TROUSER FEATURES
Knee protection with a cover of DuPont™ Nomex/Kevlar® with an impregnation of silicone and carbon fibres and a lining of para-aramid fibres. The trouser cuffs are also adjustable in width. These features are made from the material DuPont™ Nomex/Kevlar® to extend the lifespan of the trousers themselves.
PRX-9000 Underlay by S-GARD®
The underlay is particularly sensitive in the area where the breathing equipment is located. The PRX-9000 elements are made of a special polymer that is foamy, permanently elastic, and fire-resistant. Due to their perfect fit with S-GARD® protective clothing, they help cushion the pressure on the heavily loaded shoulder and back area.
Thanks to the vertical strap-like arrangement, the design of the elements contributes to better airflow from the back to the front, significantly improving comfort during wear.
