FIREFIGHTING INTERVENTION TROUSERS S-GARD ULTIMATE
The S-Gard ULTIMATE trousers are designed with comfort and safety in mind. They provide access to everything you might need during an intervention.
TROUSER SUSPENDERS
Suspenders are made of durable material and, because they are non-elastic, they will not stretch over time. For greater mobility, a special elastic-rubber section in the lumbar part of the trousers allows for normal movement when bending. Tightening the suspenders is done similarly to adjusting a breathing apparatus, meaning all you have to do is pull the strap.
MOVE+3D SYSTEM
The MOVE+3D system of the S-Gard Ultimate line consists of two key features:
1. MOVE+ SYSTEM
S-Gard Ultimate intervention trousers are made of 3 layers - an outer layer, inner lining, and a membrane between the two layers. To ensure maximum comfort for the firefighter's movement, S-Gard has quilted all three layers in the crotch area, allowing exceptional movement even in extreme conditions. This quilting system of all three layers in the crotch is called MOVE+ system. In practice, this means that when a firefighter lifts their leg during work, the trousers follow the movement, providing the greatest possible freedom of movement.
2. 3D COMPONENT or "ACTION DESIGN"
The S-Gard Ultimate trousers are pre-shaped, meaning they are designed to anticipate movement (i.e. "action design"), with the trouser legs cut at a slight angle at the knee bend, resulting in easier knee bending and therefore easier work when most needed.
Therefore, the MOVE+3D system is the next generation of the MOVE+ system, enhanced with the feature of "Action design".
TROUSER FASTENING
The trousers fasten at the front with a hook and loop as a zipper could cause issues. A press stud is also attached next to the hook and loop to further secure the trousers.
PRACTICAL POCKETS
Firefighting trousers have a pocket on each side, one is a real pocket for storing items, while the other opening is not a pocket, but allows access to the inside of the trousers. The trousers have bellows or real pockets on both sides. A key feature of these pockets is that the lower edges are not directly sewn onto the outer layer of the trousers, but have a gap. This is important because if the pocket is full, its contents do not press against the inner part of the trousers, i.e., the leg, which is particularly important when carrying heavy objects in the pockets and trying to run. The Ultimate trousers also feature two pockets on the back of the trousers.
Pocket flaps are reinforced with DuPont™ Nomex/Kevlar® material with an apertured finish of silicone and carbon fibers and PRX9000.
REFLECTIVE STRIPS
In addition to the jacket, the trousers also have double-stitched reflective strips, which are segmented, meaning the strips are cut, providing a softer feel when worn.
INSPECTION OPENINGS
The trousers also feature 2 inspection openings through which you can check the condition of the membrane from both sides. It is recommended that after each interior attack, the firefighter checks the condition of the membrane to ensure there are no damages. If the membrane is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced for your own safety.
ADDITIONAL TROUSER FEATURES
Knee protection with a DuPont™ Nomex/Kevlar® covering with an apertured finish of silicone and carbon fibers and a lining of para-aramid fibers. The same material, DuPont™ Nomex/Kevlar®, is also used for the trimming of the trouser legs, extending the life of the trousers.
The trousers are adjustable at the waist with a hook and loop. The trouser legs are also adjustable in width at the bottom.
The trouser legs are cut at the bottom, so the back part is shorter, meaning when walking, you will not step on the trousers, further extending the life of the trousers.
MEMBRANE
The trousers feature a special membrane - Parallon HYBRID membrane, which is currently the highest quality membrane available on the market. The Parallon Hybrid membrane consists of 2 Parallon membranes - PARALLON 600 and PARALLON 500, one providing the highest level of protection, and the other the highest level of comfort.
